Utah is home to some of the top high school football teams in the country. Each year, these teams compete for the state championship and a chance to represent Utah in the national playoffs.
In 2023, the Utah High School Athletic Association (UHSAA) has released its top 25 rankings for high school football teams. The standings are determined by a multitude of elements, encompassing the team’s win-loss record, the difficulty of their schedule, and their achievements when facing opponents with high rankings.

Corner Canyon is the top-ranked team in Utah for the 2023 season. The Chargers are led by quarterback Jaxon Dart, who is a five-star recruit committed to USC. Dart has thrown for 2,545 yards and 30 touchdowns through the first seven games of the season.
Skyridge is the second-ranked team in Utah. The Falcons are led by running back Tavion Thomas, who is a four-star recruit committed to Utah. Thomas has rushed for 1,245 yards and 18 touchdowns through the first eight games of the season.
Pleasant Grove is the third-ranked team in Utah. The Vikings are led by wide receiver Cody Hagen, who is a four-star recruit committed to BYU. Hagen has caught 50 passes for 987 yards and 15 touchdowns through the first seven games of the season.
American Fork is the fourth-ranked team in Utah. The Cavemen are led by quarterback Hunter Clegg, who is a three-star recruit committed to Utah State. Clegg has thrown for 2,123 yards and 25 touchdowns through the first seven games of the season.
Timpview is the fifth-ranked team in Utah. The Thunderbirds are led by linebacker Spencer Fano, who is a four-star recruit committed to Utah. Fano has 75 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks through the first six games of the season.
